Acceptable Use Policy

1. Content moderation

All prompts, uploaded images and generated results are screened by automated moderation. The system is fail-closed: if content cannot be confirmed as safe, it is blocked. Content that violates this policy is refused before generation or removed after the fact, and we may suspend or terminate accounts that attempt to bypass moderation.

2. Prohibited content

You may not use HelloGen to create, upload, or share:

• Sexual, pornographic, or otherwise adult (NSFW) content of any kind, including AI-generated nudity or sexualized imagery.
• Any sexual content involving minors, or any content that sexualizes, endangers, or exploits a minor. This is a zero-tolerance rule and suspected child sexual abuse material is reported to the authorities.
• Content that depicts graphic violence, gore, self-harm, or promotes terrorism or other serious harm.
• Hateful, harassing, defamatory, or discriminatory content targeting people or protected groups.
• Content that infringes copyright, trademark, publicity, or other rights, including uploading images you do not have the rights to use.
• Anything illegal under applicable law, or content promoting illegal goods or activities.

3. Real people, identity and deepfakes

HelloGen must not be used to impersonate, deceive, or harm real people. Specifically, you may not:

• Create face-swap, deepfake, or synthetic media that portrays a real, identifiable person in a false or misleading way.
• Generate intimate, nude, or sexual imagery of a real person (non-consensual intimate imagery), whether or not they are a public figure.
• Upload photos of another person without their consent, or use the tools to harass, defame, or damage the reputation of any individual.
• Depict public figures or celebrities in a way that is deceptive, defamatory, or implies a false endorsement.

4. Third-party IP, trademarks and celebrity likeness — commercial use

AI models are trained on existing material, so a generated image can end up resembling a work, character, logo or person you did not intend. Treat any such output as unusable for business purposes unless you hold the rights. Specifically, you may not:

• Use AI-generated content that resembles a well-known intellectual property, character, brand, logo or trademark — or an imitation of one — for any commercial purpose: products for sale, merchandise, packaging, advertising, marketing, app icons, or NFTs and other tokenised assets.
• Use AI-generated content that resembles a real person — including a celebrity, influencer or other public figure — in advertising, endorsements, product imagery, or anything else that could imply they are associated with, or approve of, a product or service.
• Prompt the service in a way designed to reproduce a specific protected work, a specific brand’s trade dress, or a specific person’s face.
• Present AI-generated content as an official, licensed or authorised work of the rights holder it resembles.

5. Ownership of generated content and your responsibility

As between you and HelloGen, you own the images and videos you generate and may use them personally and commercially, to the extent the law allows. That grant is only what we can give: we do not, and cannot, warrant that a generated image or video is free of third-party rights, and we grant you no rights in anyone else’s intellectual property or likeness. Copyright protection for purely AI-generated works is limited or unavailable in many jurisdictions, so you may not be able to stop others from using a similar image or video. You are solely responsible for checking your intended use and for obtaining any licence, release or consent it requires. You agree to indemnify and hold HelloGen harmless against any third-party claim, loss or cost arising from the content you generate, upload, publish or commercially exploit — including claims of copyright or trademark infringement, or violation of publicity, privacy or personality rights.

6. Editing your own images

The image editor is intended for editing images you own or have permission to use — for example changing backgrounds, colors, objects, or style. It is not a tool for creating deceptive or non-consensual imagery of real people. You are responsible for having the rights to any image you upload and for how you use the result.

7. Fair use of the service

Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, scrape, resell, or gain unauthorized access to the service, and do not use automated means to evade usage limits, moderation, or security controls.

8. Enforcement

If we believe you have violated this policy, we may block content, limit features, suspend or terminate your account, and refuse a refund for the affected purchase. Serious or illegal violations may be reported to law enforcement. We may update this policy from time to time; the date above shows the last revision.

9. Reporting abuse and requesting removal

To ask us to remove any other content — an image of you, an impersonation, a trademark misuse, a public share page, or personal data — see our Content Removal Policy at /content-removal/. For anything else, including questions about this policy, email support@hellogen.ai. Reports involving a minor or non-consensual intimate imagery are handled on an expedited basis, typically within 24 hours.
